Westwood Council Member Mark Herd Running for L.A. City Council

Herd will run against current City Councilman Paul Koretz, as well as others vying for the 5th District L.A. City Council seat.

Westwood Neighborhood Council member Mark Herd will run for the 5th District Los Angeles City Council seat in March 2013.

Herd will run against current City Councilman Paul Koretz, along with Yuval Daniel Kremer, Frank Grande and Phil Jennerjahn.

Herd was recently elected to a second term on the Westwood Neighborhood Council.

Forty-nine candidates in the upcoming municipal elections are running for 17 seats, including that of the mayor's office, city attorney, city controller, eight city council seats, three board of trustees seats and three spots for board of education.

There are 14 candidates looking to fill current Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's seat, including Los Angeles City Councilman Eric Garcetti, City Controller Wendy Greuel, City Councilwoman Jan Parry, attorney and former federal prosecutor Kevin James, technology company executive and former Villaraigosa personal assistant Emanuel Pleitez.
