A warning for those running for office.
1. Don't pander to unions; ie, IBEW/DWP. Folks look at their…Read More DWP bill and think, hmmmm is this bill going to be higher 2. Keep outside folks like Clinton and Boxer out of local elections. It's suppose to be a nonpolitical office (even though we know it isn't) but what it does do is piss off those that might consider voting for one over the other. 3. Don't pander to women. Guys vote also so all the talk about the first woman mayor may be okay, but don't make it a big platform item. There you have it all free of charge.
Yea! Let the gentrification of Los Angeles began. Garcetti has already been responsable for over…Read More 13,000 Latinos being pushed out of their neighborhoods and counting; yet, he goes around pretending to be a Latino. I guess I better get ready to pack my bags because little old working class me don't deserve to live here and its a matter of time before a developer push me out.
All I want is a Mayor who will not march in a parade of illegals. There was nothing more insulting…Read More than hearing that your Mayor is celebrating the cause of one of our biggest financial problems...supporting the illegals. The DWP thing bothered me also. They are out of control, so that negative advertising did bother me about her alliance with them. But I really did want Wendy Gruel to win, but didn't really care all that much, as long as they were not hispanic, because we saw what happened with Villairagosa.
Its is now almost 3 AM and only 20% of the precints in CD3 have reported their votes!!!! (CD 3 is…Read More the south/west SF Valley) while most CD's have reported 80-90%!!!!
What is the problem??? This seems very strange!
Such censorship on this thread tonight...Just confirms my feelings that candidate who ran the…Read More sleaziest campaign and remained without a platform lost the mayor's race tonight....
When it says the Los Angeles Times 'endorses' someone or something does that mean they took a vote…Read More of all employees working at the Times or is it just a meaningless blurb by a small coven of inflated corporate propagandists kissing A with the Federal government or some other powerful special interest influence?
Hey Cal, This was actually my fault. Because I spend so much time on Moorpark Patch, I think I…Read More automatically typed in "Moorpark" when helping out with getting the LA election news onto the Patch sites in Los Angeles . . . Usually when I make a silly mistake like this, I'll fix it behind the scenes before anything actually gets published. Last night, I found out one of the glitches to be ironed out in our new platform is items posted directly from other sites can't be deleted without deleting the original. Hopefully our tech genies get that fixed soon, but in the mean time, I'll definitely be more careful and keep our local site local (at least as much as I can. Some of the sponsored content is beyond my control).
Dear Patch People... Why include an article in the Moorpark Patch that has to do with local…Read More politics in LA? Why should this take up space in our Patch? Anybody following the elections in LA can turn to the LAT on line or any number of other sources if interested. Just wondering... I prize the local news and the timeleness of the Patch. Forget the stuff that doesn't really impact our community.
Eric Garcetti Is the Next Mayor of L.A.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Garcetti had 54 percent of the vote, compared to 46 percent for City Controller Wendy Greuel.
