Patch: What are the important issues facing Westwood and what is your position on them?

Amos: Westwood has a lot of problems, but I'd point to the lack of parking and the vacant stores. These are the two primary reasons that people are not coming to Westwood.

Patch: What Westwood Neighborhood Council decisions have you agreed with? What, if anything, would you do differently?

Amos: I am in favor of the decisions which have brought new business to Westwood, like the opening of our new CityTarget. I am opposed to the WWNC dealing with issues such as genetically engineered food.

Patch: In your opinion, what role should the Westwood Neighborhood Council play in the community?

Amos: The WWNC should be the conduit that seeks the opinions of everyone in the WWNC area and then implements them. This requires greater outreach to everyone who lives and works in our area.

Patch: What's one thing most constituents don't know about you?

Amos: That I also support Clinton Schudy who is running for this office. Clinton is the owner of Oakley's Barber Shop in the Village. I have been so impressed with all that he has done for Westwood. He has tremendous knowledge about the needs of Westwood and I hope he is elected.

Patch: Why did you decide to run for a seat on the Westwood Neighborhood Council? What qualifications do you have to represent your community?

Amos: I love Westwood and always have! Thirty years ago when I was in high school and at UCLA, I hung out in Westwood Village with my wife (she was my 19 year old girlfriend back then!) and this was the hottest spot in L.A. Every store was filled and people came from all around to be here. It's fallen apart since then. Lots of vacant stores and broken sidewalks now, so we need to help Westwood and I hope to be part of the team that brings it back to where it used to be. As a local lawyer, homeowner, business owner and long time fan of Westwood I have the knowledge and skills to help our beautiful village.
