Herd, Koretz to Square Off in L.A. City Council Debate

Mark Herd and current City Councilman Paul Koretz will participate in the debate at St. Paul the Apostle Church.

Westwood Neighborhood Council member Mark Herd and current City Councilman Paul Koretz will face off in a debate Tuesday night in Westwood.

Both are running for the Los Angeles City Council 5th District seat.

The debate will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 10750 Ohio Ave.

The City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County primary elections will be held March 5.

The city of Los Angeles offices at stake are for mayor, city attorney, city controller and City Council Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.

Also up for grabs are positions on the Los Angeles Unified School District, Board of Education, Districts 2, 4 and 6. Los Angeles Community College District seats up for election are at-large seats 2, 4 and 6.

Two measures—Measure A to increase the sales tax by one-half percent and Measure B impacting police pensions—are also on the ballot.
