Police Blotter: Grand Theft Auto at Westside Pavilion Mall

Here is today's crime briefing from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Los Angeles Police Station.

Leading today's installment are an aggravated assault at a workplace, and an auto robbery at the Westside Pavilion Mall in which a 2011 Ford Fiesta was stolen.

All descriptions are from the LAPD.

Aggravated Assault

3/21/11, 0900      11400 Gateway                      

The suspect is the victim’s boss. The victim and suspect got into an argument over business issues. During the course of the argument, the suspect picked up a metal rod and attempted to strike the victim in the head. The victim blocked the blow with his arm. The victim then picked up a metal chair and chased the suspect out of the office and then notified the police. The victim was not seriously injured.

 Robbery Arrest  

Deft: (Female Hispanic 18 yrs) 

Suspect 2  was arrested 3/22/11 in Moreno Valley by WLA 211 detectives for the 3/05/11 Jewelry Store business robbery.  Suspect 1  was previously arrested on 3/15/11.

Gang Related Street Robbery: 

Date:  3/20/11  (SUN)  1400 hrs    Location: Sawtelle & Pico                

Victim: Male Black 24 yrs

MO:  Five suspects approached victim, stated, “Where you from? Where you from?” Victim replied he was not a gang member and a suspect attempted to pat down victim.  When victim slapped suspect’s hand away, suspects struck and kicked the victim until he lost consciousness. When victim regained consciousness, his wallet & phone were missing.

Suspects 1-5: Male Hispanic 507/600  170/200  18/20 yrs.

Burglary:

12700 Mulholland

MO:  On 03/21/11, between 1000 and 1530, suspect(s) removed louver slats from SFR side window, removed guitars and cameras.

 11500 La Grange

MO:  Between 03/20/11 at 2230 and 03/21/11 at 0820, suspect(s) cut the SFR detached garage door lock, removed gardening tools.

10800 Wilshire

MO:  Between 03/20/11 at 1430 and 03/21/11 at 0800, suspect(s) pried the high-rise office front door, removed cash and wrist watches.

1000 Angelo Dr

MO:  Between 03/11/11 at 1500 and 03/22/11 at 1300, suspect(s) used hidden exterior key to enter club house (for individually owned basketball court and soccer field), removed I-pod, camcorder, clothing.

1400 Cardiff

MO:  On 03/22/11, between 1245 and 1440, suspect(s) removed the apartment side window screen, made no attempt to defeat security bars.  Victim involved in lawsuit, believes act was intimidation more than burglary attempt.

1500 Holt

MO:  On 03/22/11, between 1100 and 2145, suspect(s) used locksmith to enter apartment, remove a TV, laptop, and fish tank with a rare fish.  Former roommate suspected, victim refused to return deposit unless he retrieved fish, he threatened to use locksmith to enter and get his fish and electronics to resolve debt.
