SOLD ON WESTWOOD

Westwood Village is becoming the new downtown of Los Angeles - join us for dining, shopping, movies, theaters or just walking around.

Does anyone remember the original Westwood Village of the 1960's?  It was a captivating place with premium boutique shopping, unusual meandering streets and alleyways, top notch dining with movie premiers rivaling Hollywood Boulevard.

The premiers still come to the Village and there is some shopping and maybe a little dining, but it is all starting to change.  New stores are coming and trendy restaurants are opening their doors.  A new Westwood Village is emerging.

Notice the streets are cleaning up and there is now customer friendly parking.  I found that I could eat at an upscale establishment, walk and get a wonderful homemade chocolate chip cookie, and then see a first run movie in one of three individual theaters and even be able to park for 2 hours free - all within a 2 block radius!

Now let's talk houses:

Now listed for sale, there is a gorgeous 6000 sq ft home in the Holmby Hills area of Westwood.  It is listed for just under 6 million dollars.  The home has been featured on the Robinson Gardens Tour, was built in the 1930's and is still the illustrative of elegance of days gone by, it is within walking distance to the Village.

On the other end of the spectrum a lovely affordable home in Westwood can be purchased in the $700,000 range. The lowest priced home in Westwood - this particular home is an unspoiled original 1926 early Californian Spanish located on Malcolm Avenue.  The excellent news is that it is in the Westwood Charter School District, the best elementary school in Los Angeles.

Westwood's wonderful location is in the middle between Brentwood on the west and Beverly Hills on the east.

2012 is going to be an amazing year and Westwood is in the middle of it!
