Attending the 'Red 2' Premiere in Westwood

One of the great joys (and sometimes woes) of being a UCLA student in Westwood is stumbling into a worldwide film premiere during a casual stroll into Westwood. This often produces hilarious and sometimes annoying results, like randomly bumping into your favorite celebrity or having to walk around the whole block just to get to Starbucks.

Despite the inconvenience of a premiere the night before a big exam (what my friends and I affectionately call #UCLAStudentStruggles), attending these premieres was one of my favorite things to do in my spare time while I was at UCLA. Although I've since graduated, being in the Westwood area means I still get to enjoy these perks. On Thursday, the premiere for 'Red 2' was held in Westwood, and I had the pleasure of attending the event with a few of my friends.

It was quite a star-studded turnout. John Malkovich arrived first, followed by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Helen Mirren and of course, the star that had everyone – and I mean everyone – screaming, Bruce Willis.

Anthony Hopkins was a no-show, but Psy made a surprise appearance. We only caught a glimpse of him because he didn't approach the fan section. Not that I minded. I had forgotten to bring something for the actors to sign on – something you should always bring to a premiere. And a sharpie, just in case (although celebs usually come prepared with their own).

There are many more premieres held in Westwood over this summer, including 'The To-Do List,' 'The Smurfs 2' and 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.' Will you be attending any of them?

Also, feel free to check out my thoughts on 'Red 2' at my personal blog
