UV Rays at High Level

The ultraviolet exposure level will be 11 Tuesday, even higher than yesterday's 10. Be sure to protect your skin from sun damage and do the same for those you love.

Don't leave home without sunscreen Tuesday—the ultraviolet index level in Los Angeles is 11, according to the National Weather Service.

The reading indicates what the UV exposure is expected to be at noon,
when the sun's rays are at their strongest. This is why sunscreen will be important, even if you're only outside for a few minutes: A very high exposure level (10 or above) means a fair skinned person could get a sunburn in about four minutes.
