The branch is the bank's first flagship on the West Coast.

By City News Service

Citibank opened its first West Coast "flagship" branch in Westwood Thursday.

The 6,000-square-foot branch at Wilshire and Westwood boulevards is the first of its kind on the West Coast and Citi's fourth branch to use proprietary banking technology developed in Asia.

The branch features interactive media walls, enhanced-image ATMs, Citibank online terminals and a full suite of banking capabilities, including services for retail, small business, commercial, personal wealth management and mortgage customers, as well as Citigold Relationship Banking.

"Citibank's flagship branches combine a unique level of service, convenience and technology for customers and clients, and they serve as anchors in communities in which we have deep roots and a meaningful presence,'' said Cece Stewart, Citi's West Coast president.

In Westwood, the branch has employees who can work with clients in 10 languages.

Citi has two flagship branches in New York City and one in Washington, D.C. joining Stewart for today's ribbon-cutting was Lisa Deloney, Citi's Southern California market president, and Gary Toebben, who heads the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
