Gas Prices Drop Again

This comes shortly after a nine-day streak of increases, which stopped Saturday.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent today to $4.111, the third consecutive decrease following a nine-day streak of increases.

The average price is 2.7 cents more than one week ago and 30.5 cents higher than one year ago but 2.5 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent today for the second consecutive day to $4.091, 2.1 cents more than one week ago and 31 cents higher than one year ago but 2.7 cents less than one month ago.

A nine-day streak of increases ended Saturday when the price remained unchanged.
