WGA TV Award Nominees: Cable Dramas Dominate

The WGA Awards will be presented Feb. 5 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel in Century City.

Awards Season is once again upon us and the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel will once again be a prime location for ceremonies.

The Writers Guild of America unveiled its nominees in television categories Wednesday. Awards will be handed out in Century CIty on Feb. 5.

Nominees in the film categories will be announced Jan. 4.

The writers of ''Boardwalk Empire,'' ''Breaking Bad,'' ''Dexter,'' ''Friday Night Lights'' and ''Mad Men'' were nominated in the drama series category.

The ''Mad Men'' writing staff won the 2010 award.

The  writing staffs of ''30 Rock,'' ''Glee,'' ''Modern Family,'' ''Nurse Jackie'' and ''The Office'' were nominated on the comedy side.

''30 Rock'' won the 2010 award, while Emmy-winner ''Modern Family'' was
named best new series.

This year's nominees for best new series are ''Boardwalk Empire,'' ''Justified,'' ''Men of a Certain Age,'' ''Treme'' and ''The Walking Dead.''
