MEAN GIRLS Jr takes over John Adams Middle School Performing Arts Center April 26-28! 


Adapted from the popular 2004 film, MEAN GIRLS is the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative team, including book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). MEAN GIRLS the musical was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and inspired this winter’s musical film adaptation.
Join us at the beautiful JOHN ADAMS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER for a family-friendly version of this fresh, fun musical comedy about Cady Heron, the naive newcomer who navigates the social perks and perils of high school life, where Plastics reign, and good friends can be hard to find (and keep). MEAN GIRLS Jr is a anthem to friendship, loyalty, and girl power. With iconic characters, and songs that keep the laughs coming (“It Roars,” “Meet The Plastics,” “Stupid With Love,” “Fearless,” “I See Stars”) this movie-turned-musical is sure to delight Santa Monica audiences.

LEARN JOURNALISM &amp; BROADCASTING
Is your child or teen interested in exploring broadcasting and journalism?
1 Week Broadcast Journalism Camp, for kids &amp; teens.
Students produce a newscast including segments in politics, current events, sports, arts and entertainment.
They gain real-world skills by creating their news projects, and anchoring segments of the newscast they produce. 
They will learn the digital news production process from start-to-finish. The week-long camp culminates with a complete newscast created, produced and anchored by the students.
Throughout this hands-on program, aspiring digital journalists and reporters will learn:
1-Research, write, direct, and produce their own news stories.
2-Work on projects such as a 30-second to 90-second news package.
3-Gain technical skills in video production and editing, composition, scene exposure.
4-Edit their work, and learn how to use industry-standard software.
5-Learn to develop and hone their skills in the following areas: Research and Preparation, Interviewing

&middot; Post-Production Producing &amp; Editing
&middot; Vocal Coaching
