Wags and Walks was founded by Lesley Brog because she knew she could do more for animals. 

Lesley began as the daughter of a vet and a volunteer with rescue organizations where she learned the harsh reality that amazing, well behaved, beautiful "pets" were being dumped at local shelters.  5000 dogs are euthanized every day in shelters due to lack of funds and space.  Wags and Walks dedicates their time to physically visiting the shelters, most an hour away. We take pictures, take the dogs out to get to know their temperament, work with the staff, network the dogs that are the most in danger, and put a plan in place to get them out before they die.  We drive them to our vet to ensure they are healthy and find them fosters to keep them safe.  

We dedicate a great amount of time and resources to saving as many dogs as possible, but we can't do it alone!   As a mother of 2 young children and 3 shelter dogs, Wags and Walks relies on the kindness of our dog loving community to donate, foster, transport, network and adopt. We are set up as a donation based organization that is committed to doing whatever it takes to save as many innocent lives as possible. 

We work in conjunction with our partners at the SOL Foundation of Los Angeles who provides long term strategy for large scale change and improvement in the quality of animals’ lives. They do this through an educational program designed to help create and sustain a culture of empathy and compassion by shaping moral development and instilling positive attitudes towards animals.
