This must be why the city stopped allowing Hollywood Tour busses to go up to the sign via LakeRead More Hollywood Dr & Mulholand. Those are all independent companies. Now the city gets the $$$. Interestingly though, the city said the reason they banned the busses, which are actually just vans, was because of weight restrictions on those roads. These streets have 6000lbs limits. Signs are posted everywhere...NO VEHICLES OVER 3 TONS ! The tour busses are 15 passenger vans yet the city says they're taking 21 passengers in their bus. Fair? Of course not!

It was sweet watching the eclipse come into play with the whisping high clouds crossing over theRead More white reflective moon. Then the orange/red hue kicked in and it was awesome. It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Great Planning...Great Great planning...the 405 which appears after 5 years or so seems destined toRead More never be finished..already jamming people like some kind of escape movie from an apocalypse..now..go ahead and limit the alternates. Great planning. Just curious,, are there any stats people reading this who can crunch numbers and make a good figure for how much gas and work hours are wasted at each major traffic hang up..millions of dollars/work hours/gallons of gas??? just curious how much human resource is wasted for every traffic jam slow down and tie up. What do you think..then multiply that by yearly cost. Ok you genius number crunchers, What do you calculate...it can't be a pretty sight I am sure.

The man should be buried where his fans can visit him regularly . They won't disappoint or neglectRead More him. They will always unconditionally love him. When a true celebrity dies all that's left is the fame they achieved, the people they starred with and the celluloid images embedded on film. Mickey Rooney outlived his contemporaries and should be able to rejoin his Motion Picture family in death especially since he disinherited his own family in life .

......I'm speechless lol
Jeff April 9, 2014 at 05:42 pm
It's not that a Kardashian or Hilton aren't reality-based celebrities . They are and I have noRead More tolerance for them personally. They are like dinosaur leeches that grab a hold on our societies lowest common denominator and will not let go. We have become a voyeur society and these families are the Queens of that society. It's degrading and putting our morals on a slippery slope. Personally the use of the word celebrity has less than stellar qualities in today's world than it did yesterday I just hate when someone is called a celebrity because of the sex tape or some other lack of talent or because they have money or are a child of someone of significant note. These bottom feeders and I know that's an unkind statement but these folks are useless examples of what we should not strive for in society and wind up being voyeurs instead . This Type of celebrity appears on supermarket tabloid covers , new stories and is really not worthy of even a mention if you actually looked at what they can accomplish however the damage they're doing to our society and to young women and men everywhere is reprehensible and the press just buys right into it. It's a rant against the loose moral fiber invading out media and lives. The real celebrities and heroes we should look up to are still there but we have a different judgment call today those folks aren't stylish there not splashy or glitzy they don't embarrass themselves they strive to make this world at better place , we tend not to reward that kind of behavior and it's really a shame

I have been treated at UCLA and Cedars, as well as Scripps. Never for an emergency. My experienceRead More at all three institutions ranges from excellent to unforgivable, depending on the treating physician. Frankly, hospitals are in a sorry state all over the country. Now with the ACA ( Obamacare ) in action it will be fascinating to watch the morphing of our healthRead More system. Three predictions: the private health insurers will super- gouge all individual plan holders to the point of criminality; much health care will be provided by lesser than MD trained; and lastly the number of wrong diagnoses and wrong treatments will increase dramatically.

@Alex Bloated pensions of our teachers?! Teachers pay for their own pensions. The school districtRead More doesn't contribute a single dime to any teacher's pension. Unlike the city, county and state workers, they get their money matched. For every dime they contribute to their pensions, the state, county or city matches that dime. What would be nice would be to have the district pay for supplies so the teachers don't have to shell out the money. I understand that extra curricular activities cost money but that is something you choose to participate in. I would love to see the parent's reaction to having to provide construction paper, writing paper, glue sticks, scissors, paint, tape, staples, etc. to their child's education. I know that was just a few of things I had to provide for my students each and every year.
KarmaKing March 19, 2014 at 01:57 pm
"Teachers pay for their own pensions. The school district doesn't contribute a single dime toRead More any teacher's pension." Not so Sarah. Teacher's contribute 8%, school districts contribute 8.25% and the State kicks in 5%. That's according to CALSTRS which is the State's teacher pension system ( http://www.calstrs.com/general-information/plan-funding-faqs) and a recent OC Register article here: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/state-602273-percent-districts.html. of course, if CALSTRS can't address it's $70 billion unfunded liability, taxpayers have to pick up that tab also.

I would consider going somewhere other than loreal for beauty/sunscreen products. After a backlashRead More on their animal testing procedures in the '80's they quit testing on animals but instead outsourced that testing. It took them until last year to stop that outsourcing but they still have a disclaimer that they 'may' test under certain circumstances. Do you really trust their sneaky policies? Also steer clear of any face wash products that contain polyethylene. Those contain the plastic microbeads that are placticizing our oceans.

I strongly suggest looking into what you are putting on your skin before just slathering somethingRead More that says SPF whatever. Your skin is like a mouth and will drink whatever you put on it.
