I feel terrible for the victim of the shark bite. I think some one should have notified theRead More lifeguards so they could have warned swimmers away from the area. The shark was supposedly on the line for up to 45 minutes so there was certainly time to clear the water and prevent this tragic attack. But, no medical insurance? Really? Previous articles say the victim is a 40 yr old realtor. Why would he not have insurance? Especially now with Obamacare and Covered California! Isn't he now required by law to have insurance?

The reports are that last year this same swimmer did a 13 hour swim from Catalina to Trump NationalRead More Golf Course. He said later that it was a swim from Hell. The important point, however, is that as a consequence of the swim he suffered hypothermia and possibly a mild heart attack for which he was hospitalized. Did he have insurance then? He is wearing a wedding ring in some photos. So, can we guess that his spouse also lacks insurance? And,, many reports identify him as a 50 yo, not a 40 yo. There is a lack of information but one would think that this person is avoiding getting insurance. From my POV that is a very foolish base for a person who is an active OW swimmer.

If they truly want to make a difference in water usage they would target the city and stateRead More governments who continue to approve new high density residential building. Every time they approve another new development project they are adding to the drain on water. And, fracking needs to stop. Forcing millions of gallons of water and chemicals under pressure into wells in California is a dangerous travesty. Not only does the process of fracking use water, it contaminates the ground water. Yes there is a drought but it is our city and state government who can make a difference, but they continue to build new housing and frack wells to encourage oil production. It is all about money.

City of Huntington Beach is letting a contractor put in a 276 unit complex on Beach and Ellis Ave.Read More Three story underground parking for over 400 cars. Also included are commercial stalls. Where is the water coming from? Did the dumb bells talk to God and he said o.k. I will supply you with rain water? Next. The city is digging up concrete sidewalks to plant trees. Trees need to be watered twice a week. The truck delivers water for them. But their is a water shortage???? lol lol The idiots have no idea how to run a city. Wait until they try to get re-elected! I could care less about conserving.

Irvine, Lake Forest, San Juan... all building homes by the tens of thousands. Where's the water?Read More -- San Diego County over built for their water and now purchase water from the farm leases in the Imperial Valley. It's still not enough water, and never will be enough water to meet the demand.

Why does he come here so much? I don't think any president in recent memory has been to SouthernRead More California as often as this one, and Reagan doesn't count because he had his ranch out here when he was president. I think he likes to spend a little too much time hobnobbing with celebrities who will give him the fawning attention he craves and is not getting too much from nowadays from the country as a whole. His visits also tie up traffic. Notice his wife also never comes out here with him when he makes his numerous visits.

I was pulling for the Rangers as they were really playing a good game. would have enjoyed theRead More series to continue a bit longer. A bit anti climactic. I sad when the Kings won. I turned the TV off and make the decision not to watch local news as they would be making a fuss about the Kings winning. I didn't want to hear all that. I feel bad for the Rangers.
George June 14, 2014 at 01:50 pm
They are both great teams thus the hard fought over time game. Could have went either way. I live inRead More LA and pulling for the Kings but as the game went on last night I saw myself rooting for the Rangers as they are just that good. I wanted the series to last longer also. A bit anti climactic similar to the dreadful Super bowel either this year.

Attn: Mr. R. Terry Date: Monday June 09, 2014 It is because of gamblingRead More that some horses and bulls lose their lives. When horses continue to have a losing streak the owner is not making any cash off that horse, it is off to the Glue Factory with that horse. If a horse breaks it's leg in the race it is off to the Glue Factory with that horse. Bulls will die automatically in a Bull Fight after the Matador sticks both swords in the bull's throat from the left and right side of the bull. So don't tell me gambling has nothing to do with your comment. I understood what you were saying. But these animals are going to be killed if there is no money to be made that is all there is to it. The Pride Parade is coming.
Val Streit June 7, 2014 at 07:40 pm
WTF? You go against your own community and sound like FOX News with the whole "lifestyle"Read More comment. No one that I know in the LGBT community makes statements like that against their own. For you to even think it is a lifestyle tells me that you have some issues being gay. We (true LGBT) were born this way and because we want the same rights, you think we are forcing our "lifestyle"? Something tells me that you have issues with your own sexuality. It's plain horrible that you diss your own people. Happy Pride everyone.
George June 7, 2014 at 11:33 pm
I beg to differ with you but it is a lifestyle. You don't know if you were born gay. No one knowsRead More why there are gay people. Could be up bring or hereditary? The gay pride parade does a disservice to normal gay men & women who don't act a fool parading around half naked in God awful clothing or costuming. Muscular men dressed in ridiculous attire and/or drag.... Te whole thing is worth ignoring which s exactly what I plan to do. Suppose to be a beautiful day at the beach and that will be VERY nice. Naturally the militant gay will continue to stir the pot and that's their right but this gay man who came out when he was 15 in the early 80's has never been discriminated against and has for the most part enjoyed immensely being different then straight people. At the same time I never felt cramming my lifestyle down the throats of people who will never, ever understand gay people was away to gain acceptance. I really do not care if they accept me. Who cares. I am sure a lot of gay men and women feel the same as I do but feel since the gay community leader are pushing this whole militant gay issue that they should be involved because they are gay. I am the first to stand up for something when I feel slighted but that is not the case here. It is a manufactured issue that these gay community organizers are pushing and have been for a long, long time. When I was younger they were doing the same sh_t but the gays back then saw through there BS and waved em off. Back then ONLY the drag queens were the militant gays. That has all changed and it a crying share people can't see what is REALLY going on here.
Val Streit June 8, 2014 at 11:27 am
You really aren't comfortable in your own skin. Being that there are other gay people in my familyRead More that leads to genetics. Go lay on the beach and be an angry "gay man" who hates his own community of people. I pity you.
