Westwood Music has a rich history, spanning more than 50 years, of supplying guitars and equipment to musicians, from local hobbyists to well known bands. Originally founded as a rare violin and orchestral instrument store by Hermann Walecki, the shop changed its focus in the late 60's when Walecki's son, Fred, took over the business. Following the new sounds of the 60's, Fred transformed the shop into a guitar store, attracting business from names such as, Buffalo Springfield, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Linda Rondstadt and The Byrds. Accoustic, electric, bass and slide guitars hang on the walls, available for anyone to try out. Brands carried include Gibson, Martin, Yamaha, Tacoma, Collings, Breedlove, Stagg, Duesenberg, Heritage, Jerry Jones, and Nash. Vintage guitars are also available, which the store purchases. Free guitar set-up comes with purchase. Custom made cables, pedals, mics, parts, straps, strings, and other accessories for performance are also sold. Workshops, clinics, and lessons are also available in the store.
