Johnnie's New York Pizzeria

<p>Johnnie's New York Pizzeria came to Southern California in 1984 and has since branched out to six locations. This Century City location opened in 1995, though the location has been inhabited by three pizza restaurants in 50 years. It still has the original oven!</p>
<p>A regular complaint of pizza and bagel joints outside of New York is that the dough doesn't rise the same as it does in New York because of the water. Johnnie's solves this by filtering the water that goes into the dough, so it mimics New York water. The founder, Johnnie, famously said, "The best ingredients make the best pizza... Ya know what I mean?" His philosophy paid off. The pizza, salads, subs and pastas have made the chain "The Best New York Pizza in Los Angeles."</p>
