Homeless Non-Profit Raises $225,000 in Performing Arts Event
Local talent's reinterpretation of "The Wizard of Oz" addressed issues of homelessness in Los Angeles
Last Friday, People Assisting The Homeless (PATH) produced "There's No Place Like Home," a modern twist on Dorothy's twister tale written to raise awareness -- and funds. The evening's event generated over $225,000 through sponsor donations, tickets, and sales of passes to a reception where patrons enjoyed food and beverages and placed bids on auction items. More than 750 people attended.
In this audio clip, PATH CEO Joel John Roberts explained the event's purpose and the organization's mission.
