Football fans at Barney's Beanery had mixed opinions on UCLA's selection of Jim L. Mora as its replacement for the fired Rick Neuheisel as head football coach.

Yassir Attiga was "hopeful, but not that hopeful" that the Bruins would improve.

"Even if we just beat USC once in the next three years, that's already a victory right there," he said.

Attiga stressed recruiting as a key factor in college football. However he was unsure of what to expect in that regard from Mora because Mora's coaching career has mainly been in professional football, most recently for the Seartle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons.

Patrick Kilduff also thought recruiting was one of Mora's most important tasks: "He needs to get the recruits. Stop having USC and Oregon steal all these good California recruits."

In addition to emphasizing recruiting, Alexander Tabrizi thought Mora should focus on building a team in which players have harmonious relationships with each other. Tabrizi respects Mora and thinks he was a great choice for coach.

Marcel Ortiz was less confident of Mora being the best choice, but he liked him and thought he did well in NFL. “I think he can help UCLA out better than Neuheisel could,” Ortiz said.
