UCLA Professor Receives Award from Air Quality Management District

Dr. Paul Simon will be recognized for his contributions to the field of medicine and air pollution health research.

UCLA adjunct professor Dr. Paul Simon will receive the Robert M. Zweig Memorial Award Friday from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.

The award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of medicine or air pollution health research, will be presented to Simon at a luncheon in downtown Los Angeles.

Simon, who serves as the director of the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention at the L.A. County Department of Public Health, oversees a program designed to improve the places where people work, live and play though land use and transportation planning, according to SCAQMD.

Simon currently teaches in the Department of Epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health.
