The Westwood Neighborhood Council welcomed a UCLA student and a local business owner to the board Wednesday night, filling vacant seats that will be up for grabs again this October.
Angus Beverly and Marcello Robinson were chosen to fill vacant renter and business seats, respectively. Beverly is a UCLA junior involved in student government and Robinson owns a talent management and TV/film production company.
All 19 board seats on the Westwood Neighborhood Council are up for election this October. For more information on how to run for a seat, . The candidate filing deadline is Sept. 29.
Beverly ran against longtime resident Geoff Moss for the renter seat during the Council meeting at . One candidate not in attendance, Brant Feldman, failed to complete necessary paperwork and was taken out of the running.
Despite having only three candidates vying for the two open seats, Board President Jerry Brown said the Council would not delay the vote.
"It's the board's responsibility ... to fulfill the obligation to vote on the candidates as presented to us," he said Wednesday night.
