Westwood Neighborhood Council Delays Election, Grants Alcohol Permit To New Pizzeria

In its monthly meeting, the council also discussed a permit for alcohol sales at an incoming Target store.

During its January meeting, the Westwood Neighborhood Council met Wednesday evening to consider a permit application from 800 Degrees Pizza to sell beer and wine and discuss upcoming neighborhood council elections.

800 Degrees Pizza, a new restaurant in Westwood Village, received the council’s support in its request for a conditional use permit to serve beer and wine at its Westwood location. The approval came with three conditions: that the restaurant not serve pitchers of beer; that happy hour discounts apply to food only; and to-go orders must not consist of only liquor.

Because the City Clerk was not given funds to hold Neighborhood Council elections in 2012, the office is postponing elections until 2014, as administered by the City Clerk. Answering an election alternatives survey, the Westwood Neighborhood Council voted to postpone elections until 2014 and would prefer that future elections be administered by the Office of the City Clerk only.
