Westwood Community Council Meets Tonight

A Cinco de Mayo-themed carnival and more are on the agenda.

The Westwood Community Council will hold its bimonthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m.

Agenda items include two special reports.

The first will be from LAPD Police Captain Evangelyn Nathan and Senior Lead Officer Christopher Ragsdale on a proposed Cinco de Mayo-themed weekend carnival in Westwood Village, to benefit youth programs at the West L.A. Community Police Station.

Tim Higgins, associate director of cityLAB (a research center within UCLA Architecture and Urban Design), will provide a report on a year-long study project called "Westwood Village Vision."

The Planning and Land Use Committee is scheduled to act on three motions.  One is to support the recommendations of the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils (WRAC) on the city of Los Angeles' proposed amendment to its Community Care Facilities Ordinance. The second supports an ordinance proposed by Los Angeles City Council member Paul Koretz to establish an Administrative Citation Enforcement Program for Code Enforcement. The third addresses the continuing problem with the membership of our Westwood Community Design Review Board being out of compliance with the requirements of the Westwood DRB Ordinance and L.A. Municipal Code.

The meeting will be held at Belmont Village, 10475 Wilshire Blvd., in the Town Hall Community Room.
