'Ramp Jam' Closures at Wilshire Blvd. End Thursday

The eastbound Wilshire to northbound I-405 "flyover" ramp is approximately three times the length of the original ramp.

The following is a press release from Metro:

L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky will join representatives from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to announce the opening of the final rebuilt freeway ramp at the Wilshire/I-405 Interchange, bringing an official end to “Ramp Jam” closures at Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood.  The massive eastbound Wilshire to northbound I-405 “flyover” ramp is approximately three times the length of the original ramp, providing substantial increased capacity as well as key safety improvements for L.A. motorists. The reopening of all Wilshire ramps mark the latest construction milestone in the ongoing delivery of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project.
