The Westwood Community Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss local issues affecting Westwood, including tree removal in Westwood Village and Westfield Century City's decision to end free parking.
The meeting will be held at Belmont Village Westwood, 10475 Wilshire Blvd. Parking is free at Belmont Village, as well as at Westwood United Methodist Church, which is adjacent to the meeting location.
Here's a look at some of the issues the WCC is scheduled to discuss Tuesday:
- Members will consider a resolution to support the preservation of mature Westwood Village trees and request the Westwood Business Improvement District save as many trees as possible as part of a sidewalk replacement project.
- They'll also consider a resolution in opposition to a "lack of proper notice" to neighboring property owners before the L.A. City Planning Commission OK'd the elimination of a three-hour free parking policy at Westfield Century City.
- A resolution in opposition to a bus-only lane on Westwood Boulevard between Pico Boulevard and Le Conte Avenue, as proposed by the Westside Mobility Plan, will also be considered.
- Members will also consider a resolution in opposition to digital billboards.
