The Malibu Democratic Club endorsed several candidates for the November election this week.
The club announced endorsements for Betsy Butler, who is running for California's 50th Assembly District seat; Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District school board incumbent Ben Allen and candidate Karen Farrer; and Jackie Lacey for District Attorney.
Butler is running against Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom to represent the 50th Assembly District in the Nov. 6 election.
Also running in the SMMUSD school board race are incumbents Jose Escarce and Maria Leon Vazquez as well as challengers Craig Foster and Seth Jacobson.
Previously, the club announced endorsements for Fran Pavley for State Senate, Brad Sherman for the Congressional 30th District, Henry Waxman for the Congressional 33rd District, Dianne Feinstein for U.S. Senate and President Barack Obama.
The club also endorsed Measure ES, a $385 million bond measure meant to provide a portion of $1 billion of needed improvements at schools in Santa Monica and Malibu.
