Rules Decided for Fall Elections

Voting for Westwood Neighborhood Council set for Oct. 28

At the last meeting of the Westwood Neighborhood Council, members filled out the Election Procedures Stipulation Worksheet for the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, thereby establishing rules for this fall's council election.

Voting for the next members of the Westwood Neighborhood Council will take place on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Westwood Recreation Center.

Voter identity will be verified in-person by self-affirmation, meaning that voters will not be required to bring documents showing why they hold a stake in Westwood's affairs.  Voters must be at least 17 years old at the time of the election.  No mail-in ballots will be accepted.

Council member Lisa Chapman will serve as Outreach Chair, and a total of $1500 from the Council's budget will be alloted for spreading the word among potential candidates and voters via flyers and social media.
