Participants support Metro's recommendation to put a subway stop at Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars.

Members of the Century City business community, residents and city officials will rally in support of a subway stop at Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars on Wednesday, one day before the transportation officials will decide the subway stop's location.

The rally, organized by the Century City Chamber of Commerce, is at 12 p.m. on the northeast corner of Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars. Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz will speak at the rally and press conference, according to a statement. Other speakers include Susan Bursk, president and CEO of the Century City Chamber of Commerce; Denny Zane, executive director of Move LA; Jan Reichmann, president of the Comstock Hills Homeowners Association; and a Century City resident.

Expanding the Purple Line from downtown to Century City and Westwood, commonly known as the Westside Subway Extension, has sparked a heated debate between the Century City community, Beverly Hills, and Metro. Beverly Hills is to stop a plan to put the Century City subway station at Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars, which would involve tunneling under Beverly Hills High School. Beverly Hills has commissioned independent seismic reports to support an alternative station on Santa Monica Boulevard, which would not require tunneling under the high school. that the safest location for the stop is at Constellation Boulevard.
