405 in West L.A. to Close Tonight for Restriping

Between this and the Sepulveda Boulevard closure in Brentwood, maybe tonight's the night to stay in?

A stretch of the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles will be closed overnight tonight so crews can re-stripe freeway lanes and work on the median.

The northbound freeway will be closed between Santa Monica and Wilshire boulevards, according to Metro, which is overseeing the $1 billion construction project through the Sepulveda Pass. Ramp closures will begin at 7 p.m., with some lanes being blocked beginning at 10 p.m.

The full northbound freeway will be closed from midnight to about 5 a.m., according to Metro. The northbound Santa Monica and Olympic/Pico onramps to the 405 Freeway will be closed. The northbound freeway will be accessible at the Wilshire onramp.
