Woman Killed After Car Plunges Off Sports Club Parking Structure
The 75-year-old woman was alone in the car and no one else was hurt in the Sepulveda Boulevard incident, which is under investigation.
A 75-year-old woman was killed after her car plunged off the fourth floor of the parking structure of Sports Club/LA on Sepulveda Boulevard on Tuesday morning.
LAPD Officer Oh, who declined to give his first name, said it appeared that the vehicle was parked and then suddenly pushed the 4-foot parking lot wall barrier out. He said he did not know at what speed the car was going when it hit the barrier. There were no witnesses and police were not releasing the woman's name. No one else was hurt the incident, which happened at 9:23 a.m.
An unnamed officer with the West Traffic Division of the LAPD said he did not know whether the woman was wearing a seat belt. As of early Tuesday afternoon, police were still investigating and had not released the cause of the accident. Police were directing traffic Tuesday past the scene of the accident.

According to a statement from B|W|R Public Relations, Sports Club LA executives have no significant comments to make.
“We are aware that a fatal accident took place this morning in the parking garage of our West L.A. location. The police are currently investigating the incident, and we are doing everything possible to facilitate the investigation," the statement said.
