West LAPD: Rise In Construction Site Burglaries

Several homes in the area have been hit by burglars, according to LAPD.

Residents with homes under construction on the Westside should be extra careful to prevent burglaries, according to the West LA Police Department.

Police have seen a rise in night-time burglaries at residential construction sites primarily in the Bel-Air and Rancho Park neighborhoods, according to the alert. Incidents have also been , also in Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.

If you are currently remodeling or are planning to remodel your residence, please be aware of the crime problem and take extra precautions by discussing safety precautions with contractors to minimize the possibility of thefts. Consider using motion-activated lights, security cameras and high-security locks.

Any resident who sees suspicious activity or a burglary in progress is being asked to notify police by calling 911 or 877-ASK-LAPD.
