UCLA: USC Shooting Suspect is Not a Student

Officials say Bryan Barnes is not enrolled in the university.

One of the two men charged Wednesday in the shooting death of two USC students last month has claimed he is a UCLA student, but university officials say he is not, reports The Daily Bruin.

Bryan Barnes, 20, and Javier Bolden, 19, were charged Tuesday with attempted murder in the deaths of Ming Qu and Ying Wu. Barnes claimed he was a UCLA student in the class of 2014, but UCLA spokesman Steve Ritea told The Daily Bruin he is not a current student and the school has no record of him ever attending the university. may face the death penalty, LA Weekly reports.
