UCLA Professor Emeritus Rescued From Fire

Byron Wright, 95, and a 90-year-old woman are hospitalized with minor injuries after a fire scorches their Brentwood home.

A 95-year-old UCLA professor emeritus was rescued Monday from a fire that destroyed his Brentwood home.

Byron Wright, 95, and a 90-year-old woman were hospitalized with minor injuries and listed in good condition as of late Monday night.

The fire, reported at 11:41 a.m. in the hills west of the Getty Museum, also damaged a nearby home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
