UCLA Police Seek Suspects in Alleged Anti-Gay Hate Crime
A UCLA student is allegedly threatened with a knife while walking on South Gayley Avenue.
Police are searching for suspects who brandished a knife and made anti-gay slurs toward a UCLA student near the campus.
The attack occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday as the victim was walking southbound in the 400 block of South Gayley Avenue, near Veteran Avenue, according to UCLA police.
A dark colored, four-door sedan pulled up in front of the victim and two men got out and approached the student.

Police said one of the suspects threatened the victim with a knife and "stated anti-gay slurs," then the two suspects fled in the vehicle heading south on Gayley.
The victim sustained minor scratches and bruises but did not want medical treatment, police said.

One of the suspects was white, about 26 or 27 years old, 5 feet-9 inches tall and weighed between 160 and 170 pounds. He had brown eyes with a shaved head, and he was wearing jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
The second suspect was Hispanic, about 26 or 27 years old, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 300 pounds. He had long, black, slicked back hair and was wearing baggy clothing.
UCLA police are currently investigating the attack, which they have described as a hate crime.
