UCLA Police Seek Man who Attacked Female Student

The attack occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday when the student was walking in front of Hotel Palomar.

UCLA police today were searching for a man who attacked a female student near the campus.

The attack occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday when the student was walking in front of Hotel Palomar, 10740 Wilshire Blvd., and talking on a cell phone, according to the UCLA Police Department.

The man grabbed the student from behind and groped her, according to police.

She turned around and saw the man running toward a newer-model, silver sedan parked on Selby Avenue. He got into the car and drove south on Selby, police said.

He was described as a man in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, of average build, with dirty blond or brown spiked hair.

Anyone with information about the suspect was asked to call UCLA police at (310) 825-1491.
