UPDATE: Lanes Reopened Following Motorbike Crash on 280 Freeway

The crash, which occurred just after 8:30 p.m., also involved at least one vehicle, possibly two.

Updated 11 p.m.

All lanes of the southbound I-280 have been reopened and the SigAlert has been canceled following an injury crash involving a motorcycle and two motor vehicles.

There was no immediate word on whether the rider and the passenger -- they reportedly were seen lying on the road unmoving -- were taken to a hospital.

A motorcycle rider suffered injuries when the bike crashed into a vehicle and burned on the Interstate 280 in Burlingame Sunday evening, the wreck blocking two far right lanes.

The crash on the southbound side, near the Trousdale Drive exit ramp, was reported just after 8:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The rider and a passenger -- both helmeted, according to the CHP incident log -- were thrown from the bike and were lying unmoving in the road, callers reported.

The car was a sedan, callers reported; a caller also reported following the motorcycle on the highway because the rider was being reckless just before the crash.

It was unclear how long the lanes would be blocked but three tow trucks were sent to the scene to remove a Subaru, a Toyota sedan and the motorbike, the CHP reported.
