Small Fire in Westwood House Extinguished

A small blaze in the bathroom of a home left one person slightly injured.

Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire inside a house Saturday in the Westwood area that left one person slightly injured, a fire department spokesman said. The flames ignited in a bathroom inside a house in the 1800 block of South Pandora Avenue, just south of Santa Monica Boulevard, about 3:35 p.m., fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske said.

"One adult at the location suffered smoke inhalation but there's no word yet on whether there will be a transport to a hospital," Lenske said, adding he didn't know if the injured person was a man or a woman. The department dispatched 36 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in 10 minutes, Lenske said. There was no immediate damage estimate. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he said.
