Sexual Assault Reported Near UCLA

A woman walking near Strathmore Drive and Levering Avenue is attacked Saturday night, according to campus police.

A sexual assault was reported Saturday night near UCLA, and campus police are asking for help locating a suspect.

A female student was walking and listening to music when a man began following her. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into a white Honda Civic and sexually assaulted her, according to police. The woman was able to escape from the man. He drove off in the white Honda.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Strathmore Drive and Levering Avenue. The man, described as sunburned with short brown hair and a little over 6 feet tall, was reportedly wearing beige athletic shorts, a black "Nike" cotton shirt and white sneakers.

UCLA campus police are asking anyone with any information related to this incident to contact officers at 310-794-5824.
