Ramp Jam Help for Emergency Crews

According to a release from the Councilman Bill Rosendahl's office, the Los Angeles Fire Department is putting into place several measures to work around anticipated traffic problems during the upcoming closure of the Wilshire Boulevard on- and off-ramps

Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl announced several new protocols that will help area first responders cope with anticipated traffic problems during the ongoing closures of the Wilshire Boulevard on- and off-ramps to the 405 Freeway scheduled to begin June 22.

The measures include the continued activation of an additional engine company at Pacific Palisades Fire Station No. 69 during periods of high fire danger and 24-hour ambulance coverage at Fire Station 109 for the Mountaingate community and surrounding neighborhoods.

The fire department's dispatch center will move resources to the area during periods of high activity. Also, units will be able to use their lights and sirens when returning to their stations during high traffic times so that they will be ready more quickly for the next call.
