Campus police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman on the UCLA campus.

Around 2:30 a.m. Friday at Rieber Hall at 310 De Neve Drive, the suspect grabbed the victim, a student, from behind and attempted to sexually assault her, according to an alert issued by UCLA police.

Two witnesses interrupted the attack and the suspect fled, police said.

"The suspect is believed to have grabbed the buttocks of a second victim at a nearby residence hall as he fled the area,'' according to the alert. He is described as light-skinned, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180-200 pounds with short brown hair and a thin mustache. He was wearing a blue tank top, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact campus police at (310) 825-1491. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (310) 794-5824.
