Overturned Sedan Slows 405 Morning Traffic

The Los Angeles Fire Department reports no one was transported to the hospital.

The northbound 405 Freeway is backed up Wednesday morning following a vehicle rollover near Getty Center Drive.

According to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department, a single vehicle overturned at 7:03 a.m. in the slow lane and two right lanes were blocked. He said no one was transported from the scene and the accident was cleared by 8 a.m.

California Highway Patrol reported the overturned vehicle was a sedan possibly traveling at a high rate of speed, and the driver was able to exit the vehicle on their own. What may have caused the rollover is undetermined at this time.

According to SigAlert as of 8:50 a.m., traffic on the 405 northbound is still backed up all the way south of the I-10 and the I-90.

I am convinced that the northbound 405 has gotten MUCH worse since carmeggedon a few weeks ago. Southbound seems much better, but the rate of accidents going north has increased; maybe there's some research that can be done!
