Storm Causes Power to Go out on Thousands in Los Angeles

Patch areas affected are Hollywood and West Los Angeles.

UPDATE at 6:39 p.m.: As of 6 p.m., about 32,000 Southern California Edison customers are

without power due to the storm, according to SCE spokesman David Song. Around
9,200 of those customers are in Los angeles County,

UPDATE at 1:13 p.m. Edison now reports 18,000 customers have lost power because of the storm.

As of 10 a.m. about 10,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customersare without power due to the storm, according to the utility.

Eastern Hollywood is the most heavily affected area, with nearly 3,200 customers losing power, followed by Vermont Vista with nearly 2,800 customers out and the Sawtelle area with nearly 2,200 without power.
