Man Attacked With Baseball Bat Near Westwood Village

According to LAPD, the victim was treated for injuries and released.

A man was approached by four men and attacked with an aluminum baseball bat early Saturday morning near Weyburn and Veteran Avenues, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to police, the men approached the victim as he was walking to a party and they "exchanged words" before the assault, said LAPD Officer Christopher Ragsdale. 

The man sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital in Northridge, Ragsdale said. The assault occurred around 1-1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Last Monday, a UCLA student notified police after a man grabbed his cell phone out of his hand and ran away with it. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 700 block of Levering Avenue. The victim said the man was 5'7", African-American, 160 pounds, 20-25 years old, and wore a red Nike hoodie and gray sweatpants. The student was not injured.
