Marymount Students Give Back, Help to Ensure Others Enjoy the Holiday Season

Marymount High School Students added "Helping Others" to their lists of important projects during the Holiday season.

Community Service is an integral part of life at Marymount, and even though the school was entering the much-awaited 'Finals' period at school, Marymount students eagerly embraced opportunities to make life a little better for the less fortunate.

Los Angeles may have been abuzz with shoppers busily preparing for their own holidays, but Marymount students were working to make sure that this holiday season would be special for countless children among the Los Angeles area who are among the poor and homeless.

On December 4, a dedicated group of Marymount students and faculty, along with their families and friends joined forces with Planet Hope, a charitable organization founded by Sharon and Kelly Stone, to wrap more than 4000 presents to be distributed to children who would otherwise not receive any this holiday season.

Later in the week, Marymount students and faculty took their annual trip to A Place Called Home (APCH), a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles, to celebrate the holidays with the young people there, deliver presents and much-needed supplies,  and help to decorate the APCH center for the Christmas season.
