Sold On Westwood: Here Comes The Housing Market

The weather maybe cold but the real estate is heating up and Westwood is in the forefront.

It is only halfway into the month of February and the buzz is all about the housing market reviving.

To prove this point I want to share with you a few examples of some Westwood winners that have recently sold.  I have picked homes with a certain theme in common. They were all listed in the New Year and went into escrow immediately upon being put up for sale.

We as Realtors haven’t seen anything like this since the late 1980’s when the market was at an all time low and then it suddenly heated up and millionaires were made over night.

There are presently 22 homes in Westwood in escrow just within the last 2 months.

These homes range in price from $3,950,000  to  $750,000.

A home on Woodruff in Little Holmby was put up for sale for $3,950,000 on Jan 12 and quickly went into escrow within 5 days.

Another home located on Westholme was listed for $2,300,000 on Feb 1 and went into escrow 3 days later on Feb 4.

On the other end of the price scale a home on Overland was put up for $989,000 on Jan 16 and went into escrow 4 days later on Jan 20.  Amazing!

If you are still wondering if this is the bottom of the market and don’t believe your eyes and ears, believe that traditionally when people like me start to write about it and talk about it, the bottom has already bottomed and it is over and recovery has already begun.

Westwood is heating up. So is Los Angeles. Our little village is beginning to hum.

I understand that the new restaurant that took over the Hamlet Gardens will be ready this weekend, the Starlight Gardens.  Can't wait to see my friends tooling around town.

Westwood and all of Los Angeles are going to have a prosperous New Year.
