More than 20 babies were born at nearby UCLA Medical Centers during Carmageddon II weekend.
Thirteen babies were born at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center between 7 p.m. Friday and midnight Sunday. Eleven were born at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, according to a UCLA press release.
It was business as usual for the UCLA Health System during the 405 Freeway closure. Welcoming new lives into the world went on as it always does, said UCLA midwife Maria Lanni.
