Girl Scouts Pass out the Good Stuff – Cookies! – for Vets at UCLA

Girl Scouts showed their thanks to wounded military veterans today by passing out cards and cookies at UCLA as part of Operation Mend.

Elena Hilger, a Girl Scout and student at St. Paul the Apostle School in Los Angeles, said her fellow scouts wrote in each card about for what they are thankful.

"This one says 'Dear veteran, thank you for respecting our country. I respect you in many ways,' " Hilger said.

Jason March, a retired U.S. Army sergeant wounded in Iraq, said the cards are a morale booster.

"It gives us a sense of getting back into society, being able to stand in front of these young ladies and talk about things like this," March said.
