The audience will consist of family and friends of the participants,
members of partnering art institutions and theatres, local Los Angeles-area
residents, as well as middle school students and instructors interested in the
acclaimed music programs available at Idyllwild Arts.  They will view firsthand the transformation
experienced by these outstanding high school age musicians (after developing
and refining the skills needed for excellence in small ensemble performance),
as they perform some of the most challenging literature in the chamber
orchestra repertoire.

“It is exciting to see that the future
of music is in the hands of these capable and talented young people,” said
Larry Livingston, Professor of Conducting at USC and retired Dean of the
Thornton School of Music, who has supplied inspiring leadership for
the Idyllwild Arts Symphony Orchestra for 25 summers.  “The future of our industry depends on your
support of students with this high level of musical talent.”

Located just two hours east of Los Angeles, Idyllwild Arts offers a
fully accredited, boarding arts high school Academy, and an extensive Summer
Program
with 100-plus intensive hands-on workshops for students of all
ages. The Academy, which opened in 1986, offers majors in music, dance,
theatre, visual arts, writing, filmmaking and Inter-Arts. With a 200-acre
campus; extensive studio, exhibition and performance spaces; and a notable
faculty; IAF also has a history of visiting artists such as Ansel Adams,
