Trisha Brown Dance Company: Program A

Trisha Brown’s choreography for the stage is prolific and while we cannot embark upon an encyclopedic survey of her range, we have brought together in collaboration with the company two distinctly different evening programs which revisit her exceptional arc.

Her most recent work, I am going to toss my arms - if you catch them they’re yours, features a unique stage design of large industrial fans by visual artist Burt Barr and an original score by renowned composer Alvin Curran.

Set and Reset (celebrating its 30th anniversary), is an exploration of visibility and invisibility with costumes/set by Robert Rauschenberg and a driving score by Laurie Anderson. The fluid quality of the movement, juxtaposed with an unpredictable geometric style, is a hallmark of Brown’s work.
