Ibrahim Maalouf Quintet - Jazz Music
Ibrahim Maalouf is a trumpeter and composer born in Beirut. He lives now in Paris. He is the son of the trumpeter, Nassim Maalouf and the nephew of the writer Amin Maalouf.
In 2010, The French Cinematheque asked Ibrahim Maalouf to compose a score of a movie by Rene Clair, which was about to be reissued. After a few months of work, Ibrahim decided to record the music in the best conditions and to make an album.
He brought with him some of the most talented young musicians : Frank Woeste, with whom Ibrahim is usual to play and who helped him for the arrangements, bringing a more traditional jazz ; and also Larry Grenadier on double bass, Mark Turner on saxophone and Clarence Penn on drums.
