Man Falls 20 Feet After Vandalizing Century Plaza Hotel

The man reportedly damaged the lobby of the hotel and fell as security guards chased him.

A man who reportedly vandalized areas of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel lobby early Wednesday morning fell 20 feet off a tarp as security guards chased him. He was found by firefighters and is being treated at UCLA for non-life-threatening injuries.

The man did not cause any major or lasting damage to the hotel lobby and no guests were disturbed in the incident, said Erika Garcia-Lavyne, hotel spokeswoman.

The man ran on top of a tarp covering construction equipment as he was being chased. A hotel employee called the fire department at 2:49 a.m. to report the injured man. Firefighters found him near the Equinox Fitness Club on Constellation Boulevard.
